Best Body of Work Award

Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council, 2011

This year’s juror was Dr. Sandra Alfoldy, Professor of Historical and Critical Studies
at NSCAD University, Halifax. Sandra had this to say about our work:

“I have selected Deb Kuzyk and Ray Mackie of Lucky Rabbit Pottery for this year’s
Best Body of Work Award.

There is a cohesive interdependence amongst all of the works that results from the shared ornamentation, dramatic use of color, and functional forms. Yet each object stands alone as a finished work with a fully realized sense of exploration, experimentation and originality – whimsical and elegant.

What reinforced my decisions to select Lucky Rabbit Pottery were the visible physical reactions of visitors to the booth who were excited to explore the works. Not only did people have an overwhelming urge to touch the work, one woman in particular was clutching pieces to her chest.”

Please note:
We are no longer accepting commissions of any kind, in fairness to those already waiting, and to Deb, who needs a chance to breathe. Thank you for your kind understanding.
